Well-executed leadwork is the mark of a proper roofer. Correctly sized, correctly clipped, correctly patinated. Not a cement fillet in sight.

Common problems we solve

Cement fillets instead of lead

The single most common bodge in roofing. Cement fillets always crack and always leak. We remove and replace with correctly dressed lead.

Undersized lead

Lead sheet needs to be the correct code (thickness) and correct maximum panel size to accommodate thermal movement without splitting.

Poor clipping

Unclipped or under-clipped lead lifts in wind. We use copper or lead clips at correct centres.

Fatigue cracks

Old lead cracks along stress lines. We can often re-dress or replace on a like-for-like basis.

Our process

  1. Step 1

    Survey

We assess the existing leadwork and identify what needs replacing or re-dressing.

  2. Step 2

    Specify

We specify the correct code and panel sizes and quote in writing.

  3. Step 3

    Install

Lead cut, dressed and clipped on site by an experienced leadworker.

  4. Step 4

    Patinate

Fresh lead is treated with patination oil to prevent white carbonate staining on the tiles below.
